Cell Biotech continued its solid growth in the second quarter of 2026, with both sales and operating profit increasing on the back of strong domestic market performance and expanded exports.
Cell Biotech reported preliminary second-quarter results of KRW 15.8 billion in sales, KRW 1.6 billion in operating profit, and KRW 3.6 billion in net income. Compared with the same period last year, sales increased by 32.8% and operating profit by 28.0%. For the first half of the year, cumulative sales reached KRW 30.4 billion and operating profit KRW 4.8 billion, representing year-on-year increases of 31.4% and 82.6%, respectively.
In May, Cell Biotech launched an advertising campaign for its DUOLAC brand, featuring former announcer and broadcaster Kang Ji-young, under the tagline “DUOLAC, Probiotics with Strong Survival Power.” The company said the campaign performed well in the domestic market, contributing to the growth of domestic sales.
The campaign highlighted DUOLAC’s high survival rate in the gut, supported by its differentiated “Dual Coating” technology. In particular, the campaign effectively communicated DUOLAC’s technological advantage of achieving up to 221 times higher survival, reinforcing the brand’s core value of “probiotics with strong survival power” while increasing brand awareness and driving consumer purchases.
Cell Biotech also maintained steady growth in overseas markets. The company achieved the No. 1 position in Korea’s probiotic exports for the 13th consecutive year, driven by the quality of K-probiotics and its proprietary technologies. Of the KRW 538.5 billion in cumulative Korean probiotic exports over the past 13 years, Cell Biotech accounted for KRW 268.8 billion, or approximately 50% of the total, demonstrating the global competitiveness of K-probiotics. Export growth continued in the second quarter, contributing to the company’s overall performance alongside its domestic business.
Cell Biotech currently exports K-probiotics to 55 countries worldwide, including Denmark, Türkiye, Russia, and Mexico, and continues to expand its presence in global markets.
A Cell Biotech representative said, “Through the advertising campaign, we were able to communicate DUOLAC’s differentiated technological competitiveness to consumers and expand our brand touchpoints. The combination of domestic market growth and stable export performance enabled us to maintain our growth momentum in the second quarter.”
The representative added, “Going forward, we will further strengthen DUOLAC’s brand value as ‘probiotics with strong survival power’ based on our Dual Coating technology, while continuing to expand the competitiveness of K-probiotics in global markets.”
