Cell Biotech has maintained the No. 1 position in Korea's probiotics exports for 13 consecutive years. Since 2013, Cell Biotech has consistently ranked first in probiotic exports, establishing itself as a leading representative of the global competitiveness of Korean probiotics.

According to the 2025 Food Production Performance Statistics released by the Korea Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS), Korea's total probiotic exports reached KRW 72.0 billion in 2025. Of this amount, Cell Biotech accounted for KRW 29.1 billion, continuing to lead the country's probiotic exports.

The achievement is particularly noteworthy given that Korea's health functional food industry recorded an overall trade deficit. In 2025, health functional food imports totaled KRW 1.45 trillion, while exports amounted to KRW 452.4 billion, resulting in a trade deficit of approximately KRW 1 trillion. Despite these challenging market conditions, Cell Biotech continued to deliver stable export performance through its proprietary probiotic technology and well-established global distribution network.

Since export statistics for probiotics were first compiled in 2013, Cell Biotech has retained the No. 1 export position every year. Over the past 13 years, Korea's cumulative probiotic exports totaled KRW 538.5 billion, of which Cell Biotech contributed KRW 268.8 billion—approximately 50% of the total. This means that one out of every two Korean probiotic products exported worldwide has been supplied by Cell Biotech, underscoring its leading role in advancing Korean probiotics on the global stage.

The company's sustained global success is built on decades of proprietary strain research and technological innovation. Cell Biotech has exported its proprietary Korean-developed CBT probiotics to overseas markets and now supplies products to 55 countries, including Denmark, Türkiye, Singapore, and Mexico.

A key competitive advantage is Dual Coating, the world's first probiotic dual-coating technology developed by Cell Biotech. The technology encapsulates live probiotics with both protein and polysaccharide layers, protecting them from stomach acid and bile while ensuring safe delivery to the intestines. It also enhances product stability during storage and distribution while significantly improving probiotic survival after consumption. Human clinical studies have demonstrated that Dual Coating achieves probiotic survival rates of up to 91.6% and delivers up to 221 times greater intestinal survival than non-coated probiotics.

Leveraging its proprietary probiotic strains and Dual Coating technology, Cell Biotech has expanded its global business by providing market-specific products tailored to the needs of consumers in different countries. Beyond exporting finished products, the company continues to strengthen local partnerships and develop customized solutions, further expanding the global presence of Korean probiotics.

A Cell Biotech representative said, "Maintaining the No. 1 export position for 13 consecutive years demonstrates that Cell Biotech's excellence continues to be recognized in global markets. It is a symbolic achievement made possible by our proprietary technology and localized market strategies. We will continue to expand our global presence through the development of innovative probiotic strains and our Dual Coating technology, which delivers up to 221 times greater intestinal survival, further strengthening the global competitiveness of Korean probiotics."

Founded at a time when probiotic research in Korea was still in its infancy, Cell Biotech has continuously invested in probiotic R&D, building a proprietary technology platform based on its own probiotic strains and Dual Coating technology. Through these innovations, the company continues to set new global standards for Korean probiotics while contributing to the international competitiveness of Korea's biotechnology industry.
