Cell Biotech Launches ‘DUOLAC Meno Pro’ a K-Probiotic for Menopausal Women, in Denmark

Cell Biotech announced the launch of DUOLAC Meno Pro, a K-probiotic developed for menopausal women and exported to the Danish market.

The new product is based on Cell Biotech’s patented probiotic strain CBT-LGA1 (KCTC 12936BP) and soy isoflavones. Research findings supporting the formulation were published in the SCI-indexed international journal 'Nutrients (Impact Factor 5.0)'. The launch is particularly significant as it demonstrates the successful commercialization of the company’s research and development (R&D) achievements into a globally marketed export product.

Through a collaborative study with Korea University, Cell Biotech confirmed the efficacy of the combination of CBT probiotics and soy isoflavones in improving menopausal symptoms in an animal model. Following eight weeks of oral administration of CBT-LGA1 and soy isoflavones to animals with induced menopausal symptoms, body weight decreased by 30%, while visceral fat, subcutaneous fat, and total abdominal fat were significantly reduced by 37%, 34%, and 36%, respectively. Vaginal epithelial thickness increased by 47%, indicating potential benefits for both obesity-related conditions and uterine atrophy associated with menopause.

The study also demonstrated positive effects on bone health. Bone mineral density increased by 58%, while osteocalcin, a marker of bone formation, rose by 165%. Cardiovascular indicators showed significant improvements, with endothelin-1 (ET-1), a vasoconstrictor, decreasing by 53%, while endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS), a vasodilatory factor, increased by 196%. Furthermore, levels of the neurotransmitters serotonin and norepinephrine increased by 68% and 96%, respectively, suggesting potential benefits for mood-related symptoms commonly experienced during menopause.

Based on these findings, Cell Biotech developed and launched DUOLAC Meno Pro for export and plans to market the product through its Danish subsidiary. The launch is especially meaningful as the product joins the company’s global K-probiotic brand, DUOLAC, which is currently distributed worldwide.

Cell Biotech’s K-probiotics are exported to 55 countries, including Denmark, Türkiye, Singapore, Indonesia, and Mexico. The company has maintained the No. 1 position in Korean probiotic exports for 12 consecutive years. In addition, cumulative exports have exceeded USD 30 million in both Germany and Indonesia, demonstrating the competitiveness and reliability of the DUOLAC brand in global markets. Building on this track record, DUOLAC Meno Pro is expected to strengthen the company’s position in the growing global market for menopause-support probiotics and accelerate its international expansion.

Rather than focusing solely on the number of probiotic strains, DUOLAC emphasizes probiotic survivability.
