Cell Biotech is participating in Vitafoods Asia 2026, which is being held from September 2 to 4 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) in Bangkok, Thailand. At the exhibition, Cell Biotech will operate an independent booth to showcase its proprietary probiotic technologies and targeted product portfolio to global buyers, while exploring new business opportunities through the discovery of new partners and expansion into the Asian market.
Cell Biotech is currently available in 16 Asian countries, including Japan, China, and Taiwan. In particular, Indonesia and Singapore are key markets where Cell Biotech has established a strong local presence and demonstrated its competitiveness over the years. Cell Biotech entered the Indonesian market in 2001 and currently holds the No. 1 market share. In Singapore, where it entered the market in 2015, DUOLAC has achieved the No. 1 position in the prescription medicine (ETC) market. Leveraging its extensive experience and accumulated knowledge of local markets, the company plans to use the exhibition as a springboard for identifying new markets and business partners across Asia.
Vitafoods Asia 2026 is one of Asia’s largest exhibitions dedicated to the health and nutrition industry, held over three days at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok. Serving as a global business platform covering the entire health functional food value chain—from ingredients and finished products to distribution—the event is expected to attract approximately 16,000 visitors and more than 650 companies this year.
At the exhibition, Cell Biotech will operate a 48-square-meter dedicated booth. The booth will feature specialized experiential zones, including a Baby Zone, Kids Zone, and Women Zone, showcasing a diverse portfolio of probiotic products tailored to different age groups and health needs. Reflecting the growing interest in family health and wellness across Asia alongside economic growth, the company aims to expand opportunities for global buyers to experience and explore its products.
In particular, the Women Zone will feature probiotics specially developed for women’s health, including probiotics for menopausal health and vaginal health. As consumer demand in the probiotics market expands beyond digestive health toward more diverse, function- and target-specific health needs, Cell Biotech is broadening its product portfolio and highlighting the potential of probiotics in areas such as women’s health beyond gut health.
A key competitive advantage supporting the company’s global market strategy is Cell Biotech’s proprietary Dual Coating technology. The technology uses dual layers of protein and polysaccharides to protect live probiotics from gastric acid and bile acid, helping deliver them safely to the intestines. In a human application trial, the technology demonstrated up to 221 times greater survival in the gut compared with non-coated probiotics.

Cell Biotech’s technological capabilities in maintaining stability across diverse climates and distribution environments also support its export competitiveness. In a temperature stability test conducted at 40°C for two weeks, probiotics with Dual Coating demonstrated thousands of times greater survival than non-coated probiotics. The technology also demonstrated excellent stability across a wide temperature range from -70°C to 40°C, providing the technical foundation to export products to global markets with diverse climatic conditions.
Backed by these technological capabilities, Cell Biotech has maintained its position as Korea’s No. 1 probiotic exporter for 13 consecutive years. Over the past 13 years, Cell Biotech recorded KRW 268.8 billion in cumulative exports, accounting for approximately 50% of Korea’s total probiotic exports of KRW 538.5 billion during the same period. More recently, Cell Biotech expanded into the African market by making its first export of CBT probiotics to South Africa. With this expansion, the company has established an export network spanning all six inhabited continents—Europe, Asia, North America, South America, Oceania, and Africa.
A Cell Biotech representative said, “Since entering the Indonesian market in 2001, Cell Biotech has built a strong local business presence across Asia over the years and demonstrated the competitiveness of K-probiotics.” The representative added, “Through Vitafoods Asia, we will actively showcase our accumulated experience in 56 countries worldwide and our proprietary technologies to global buyers. We will further strengthen our position in the Asian market by identifying new partners and expanding the number of countries to which we export.”
